My work starts with people.

For more than a decade I've directed and produced character-driven documentaries and news specials, and earned a couple of Emmys along the way. What hundreds of interviews taught me is that listening isn't passive. It’s a particular kind of presence, curiosity, attention - all these determine whether people give the answers they've given before, or whether we discover something new together.

That's how I direct. Over time, the practice underneath the work earned a name - Documentary Intelligence™. These days, I work with companies doing remarkable things: to direct their films, to teach the practice to their teams, and to listen inside the organization itself. Together we find new stories that make all the difference.
