You can think of a director kinda like the conductor of an orchestra. They have vision for piece, cultivate an environment where people can bring their talents and gifts for the collective, and can make sure the instrument sections are working in concert (ha). Directors do this with stories: sharing vision, creating a positive production culture, and understanding that it takes a whole village to make things look and sound good.
